Bank details

Due to new banking laws, the bank details and the holder of the bank account no longer have to match! This means that fraudsters can use a fictitious name in their bank account. For example, the name from a hacked eGun account.
Pay attention to the first two letters of the IBAN. You can identify the country of the bank by the letters. Explanation below.

Phishing

Unfortunately, there are always eGun members who respond to so-called phishing emails. These emails are sent by fraudsters and pretend to be sent by eGun. In the email, you are usually asked to follow a link for the purpose of verifying your access data and enter the access data in the corresponding fields. The page may be provided with an eGun logo and can indeed look like a real eGun page.
All of this is only meant to steal your eGun access data and prepare for future fraud.
eGun will never ask you in an email to enter your access data directly on a website.  
Follow such emails! Delete these emails!

Suspicious Offers

Due to the carelessness of eGun members, fraud cases are becoming increasingly possible. Unfortunately, there are always eGun members who respond to phishing emails or have a so-called Trojan virus on their computer.
In both cases, the fraudsters gain access to the account details. The account is therefore hacked.
Now the fraudsters use the account to offer non-existent items on eGun, mostly expensive optics and rarely expensive weapons.
The unsuspecting bidders are now easy prey. However, there is also a way to recognize the fraud here.
Mostly, it's Eastern European fraudsters who use this tactic. That means, the writing style of the emails is in poor German or poor English. A German seller, however, will not write emails in English.
Additionally, it is now required to transfer the money to a bank abroad. Known so far are the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Norway. These banks can be easily identified thanks to the new IBAN bank connection. The first two letters of the bank connections of the IBAN are GB, CZ, HU, and NO. This corresponds to the order mentioned above. For comparison: German account numbers have the letters DE as the beginning.
Extreme caution is advised. Shipment by cash on delivery is recommended. If in doubt, contact eGun or withdraw from the purchase.

Never transfer large amounts without guarantees!

When it comes to bargains, don't let the excitement of a particularly "good deal" cloud your judgment. Caution is advised when dealing with a new member without reviews and a particularly cheap purchase.
Unless the new member has certified themselves and the ID symbol is displayed next to their eGun membership name. Then we had the ID card in front of us and the data provided is very likely correct.

Penny-pinching

If you are offered an item in "Instant Purchase" while the auction is simultaneously deleted, extreme caution is also advised. If this transaction conducted without eGun goes negatively, you cannot count on eGun's support. eGun is not responsible for transactions that are conducted outside of eGun.

Inquiries such as: "Do you sell the weapon without an EWB/age verification?" are beyond the law! Please report this to us. Weapons may generally only be sold upon proof of the corresponding permit.

If the highest bidder doesn't buy

If an item is not taken over by the highest bidder, eGun has an automatic process "Buyer/Seller does not respond" which can be completed with an automatic offer to the second bidder. The second bidder receives an appropriate email via the eGun system.
If you receive an offer as a second bidder outside of this process, extreme caution is advised. Do not trust this email. The sender's email address may be forged.
Contact the alleged seller via the auction using the "Ask (seller's eGun name)" function and inquire about the offer independently of the first email. If you are not the second bidder in the auction, extreme caution is advised.  
Unfortunately, there are now scammers who have specialized in directly contacting eGun members and pretending to be the seller of the item. However, these scammers are neither the seller nor in possession of the item from the mentioned auction.
Also offers like "I own the same item as the one you've bid on. Would you like to buy?" should definitely be ignored!

In case of disputes

The EU is currently setting up an online portal that is intended to serve as an interface to a dispute resolution body for disputes in online trade.
The Online Dispute Resolution is expected to go live on February 15, 2016.
