When offering specimens, parts, and products (including feathers, pelts, skulls) of protected species on eGun, a photo of the CITES or release papers must be included as the 2nd photo in the auction.
Without these documents, the mentioned items may not be offered. Even old specimens of protected species from estates may not be marketed without the mentioned documents.

Here is an incomplete list of tradable and protected species, which can serve as guidance in many cases.

Fully tradable are: weasel, ermine or stoat, polecat, skunk, nutria, stone marten, pine marten, raccoon, badger, fox (only red fox), fawn, deer, stag, chamois, ibex, mouflon, elk, caribou, reindeer.

Komplettes Vermarktungsverbot: Wolf

Fully tradable: Sparrows. All other songbirds only with approval or CITES.

Protected are: All raptors. Only tradable with CITES or a customs number for dealers.

Fully tradable are: Pheasant, Common Pheasant, Mallard. All other ducks and geese only with approval or CITES.

Protected species: Squirrel, Otter, Wildcat, Cougar, Black Bear, Brown Bear, Lynx. Only tradable with permit, CITES or customs number for dealers.

Fully tradable are: Impala, Kudu, Gnu, Hartebeest, Springbok, Eland, Kaffir, Oryx, Duiker.

Protected are: all striped and spotted big cats, primates and all monkeys, desert lynx (Caracal), hyena, mountain zebra, ivory. Tradeable only with CITES or customs number for dealers.
