Mauser C 96 Bolo « Ruhrast » Versuchspistole
Mauser C96 "Bolo" prototype pistol, "Ruhrast" variant, chambered in 9mm Mauser Long Export (9x25mm), manufactured between 1923 and 1930.
A "Bolo"-type test model (short barrel and small grip), featuring the shorter holster-stock designed for the Bolo. This specific example is a prototype from the development phase of the C96 Model 1930/32 and features two different safety positions.
S for *Sicherung* (safety), corresponding to the *Neuer Sicherung* (NS) safety type: the hammer is held away from the breech and cannot be cocked.
R for *Ruhrast* (translating to "hammer catch"), corresponding to the Model 30/32 safety:
the hammer is held away from the breech but can be cocked.
If the trigger is pulled in the cocked position, the hammer is caught before striking the breechblock.
F for *Feuer* (fire), corresponding to the firing position.
In near-new condition, with intact bluing and a barrel in very good condition.
Given the exceptional nature of this weapon, we did not test it with live fire.
As we are based in Strasbourg, you have the option to view the firearms in person.
For sales in Germany, a gunsmith in Freiburg with whom we regularly work will handle the firearm transfer.
